Growing Together Apart

So the start of this year has been a bit odd for us in the fact that, we've only been together for one week of it. Matt was blessed with the opportunity to go to Passion this year {so jealous} and I came back to Raleigh after New Year's for work.

This isn't the first time we've been apart. Y'all have seen from previous posts that I've traveled with work before. But I think after being with family 24/7 for 10 days over Christmas, we really craved some Taylor Twosome time.

While Matt was at Passion worshiping God, having a blast, I was freaking out in our little apartment at every noise in the middle of the night. Looking back, I'm a little ashamed I was such a wimp. But then again, I'd never been in our apartment alone before, and I mean come on, there's nothing to fear when I usually have a 6'5" giant sleeping next to me every night.

Well Matt finally got back and we had a week of unpacking, putting up the Christmas decor, & settling into school and work to share together.

In that short week we participated in our first Christmas tree bonfire! And man was it glorious. I've never been more afraid of a forest fire than at this time. But hey, we were basically burning the size of a forest anyway.

But the good times were short lived when the next day I had to pack and prepare to fly out to Houston that Sunday-Friday for work. Houston was awesome. I was wined and dined {that picture below is a restaurant we went to}, but more importantly I actually think I know what I'm doing at work now. haha. Or at  least, I understand what auditing is to a degree.

Butttt, finally we're back in our home together with our routine back in place. It's funny what simple things we take for granted when they seem so normal to us. Like sitting on the couch together. It sounds like we're really becoming our parents.
